A Kano state high court sitting in Ungogo has announced the appointment and the installation of four new emirs from Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state illegal.
Nasiru Saminu on Wednesday ordered a return to status quo pending the hearing of this suit against the appointment of this information emirs.
Ganduje failed to comply with the order, then presenting staff of office into the emirs, and issuing appointment letters. A member of the state assembly, rabiu Gwarzo, had earlier filed a suit challenging the Emirates production.
On Tuesday, Kano kingmakers filed a second lawsuit against the governor and state authorities challenging the balkanization of this emirate. The kingmakers who took the action that is legal are Madakin Kano, district head of Dawakintofa; Yusuf Nabahani, district leader of Wudil; Abdullahi Sarki-Ibrahim, district leader of Gabasawa; and Bello Abubakar Mukhtar Adnan.
