On Tuesday a Nigerian identified as Ella Peters was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for human trafficking by a Ghanian circuit court located in Accra.
Ella Peters 29, is a hairdresser in Accra. Her arrest came when the Adenta Police gathered intelligence last year in June 22 that Ella had recruited and transported some ladies from Nigeria to engage in prostitution and sexual exploitation.
The police intelligence lead by Chief Inspector Bandoh rescued two teenage girls, a 16-year-old native of Abarikpo from Rivers State and a 17-year-old native of owerri, Imo State.
The two ladies were recruited in May last year on a pretence to work at a boutique and tailoring shop in Ghana only to be forced into prostitution with a daily target of GHC150.00 each
Further investigation reveal that the teenage girls were forced to undergo blood covenant so as not to fault in their daily payment.
