Reports have it that Mikel Obi the captain of Nigeria Super Eagles is seeking a return to England as his wife and children are not moving with him to China.
Mikel Obi who is currently playing for Tianjin TEDA FC is reportedly closing in on a surprise move to Championship side Middlesbrough which will come public tomorrow which is Wednesday, as reported by the Sun.
The Sun also reported that Middlesbrough came to Mikel’s rescue with the Nigerian midfielder ready to sign for the Championship side. The 31-year-old who won two Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the League Cup including the Champions League and Europa League during his 11-year spell at Chelsea, is said to be undergoing a medical ahead of signing for Tony Pulis’ side as they push for promotion.
It was also revealed that Mikel will wear the number 12 jersey for his new side.
