The Super Falcons are expected to return to training today as they prepare to face Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the final of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The Falcons are still on course to successfully defend their title and also get back their pound of flesh from the South Africans who defeated them in their first group game.
Coach Thomas Dennerby expects the team to create goal scoring chances and convert them in the final on Saturday in Accra, Ghana.
During a visit to the team on Thursday, President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick praised the players for qualifying for the AWCON final.
He also commended them for securing a world cup ticket and promised to give them the best preparations ahead of the global competition in 2019.
With the Super Eagles also in action at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon next year, Pinnick insisted that both teams would be given equal treatment.
