A 21-year-old woman by name Shaniah Davis was arrested and charged to court for getting a guy killed after they met on a dating app.
She was arrested on Monday and made her first court appearance same day and pleading not guilty to one count of accessory after the fact to a murder. Though a day after, a grand jury returned a three-count indictment and two additional accessories after the fact charges.
The court released her same day with no bail on personal recognizance. She is scheduled to show up for an arraignment on October 16.
Police initially booked Shaniah on the charge of second-degree murder, but the charges were later reduced. They believed Marty McMillan met up with Shaniah on Tinder, and the two scheduled a meeting in real life. The day Marty was killed, police say that he saw three people: Shaniah; her(Shaniah) boyfriend, John McRae; and their friend, Rayshawn Wallace, who lived next door.
John McRae was arrested in April and charged with second-degree murder while armed. Those charges have been changed to first-degree murder while armed, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. Rayshawn Wallace was arrested last October on weapons charges, but he has not been charged in McMillan’s death.
According to court documents, John McRae told detectives his girlfriend was known to set up people for robberies.
Previously police believed that Shaniah SET MARTY UP. but now they believed that her boyfriend KILLED Marty after he learned that Shaniah was cheating on him.
